Chautauqua UCC Society

Location - centrally located at the world-renowned Chautauqua Institution -- a center for religion, the arts, education & recreation -- on beautiful lake Chautauqua in western New York between Jamestown & Mayville. (For reference, see the Chautauqua Institution web site at http://www.ciweb.org.) 

Mission Statement - The mission of the Society is to provide: a community of Christian fellowship, an atmosphere for spiritual renewal, opportunities for intellectual growth, affordable housing in a family environment, and an invitation to the worldwide UCC family to share the Chautauqua experience.  Our mission arises from our love for Jesus Christ.

The Society is a fellowship of about 400 people who 1) plan & implement a program of worship, spiritual nurture & fellowship for the nine-week season, and 2) support & maintain three beautiful buildings in the heart of the Chautauqua Institution -- Headquarters/Chapel, next to the Amphitheater; the Reformed Church House, on the corner of Bestor Plaza next to the library; & the Mayflower, between the Headquarters/Chapel and the lake. The Mayflower has a common kitchen & dining room for those who lodge at the Mayflower & the Reformed Church House.

Officers:  The Rev. Jeff Stinehelfer, Olney, MD, president; The Rev. Joe Krabill, Spring Mills, PA, vice president; Hildy Greenlee, North Canton, OH, secretary; Gail Augenreich, Forest, VA, treasurer.  Chaplain Administrator is Dr. Don Nichols, North Canton, OH.

The Society publishes two newsletters (fall & spring) per year plus accommodations information which is mailed to the membership in late January or early February.
