Our Mission: The mission of the First Congregational Church of Naperville, a United Church of Christ, is:
- to affirm God's presence in our midst and in the world;
- to welcome and accept people with diverse ideas;
- to work continuously to make clear to ourselves and others the radical message of love and justice preached by Jesus;
- to embody that message in actions which support physically, emotionally, and spiritually, ourselves, our congregation, our community and the world beyond; and
- to reach out to encourage others to join a community of Christians.
We welcome all, celebrating the diversity of our world. Come visit us to experience our open and affirming commitment. God is calling us to care for all the children of the world. We have missions programs which address local needs as well as global, both monetarily and in action. We have a history of being on the leading edge of social justice both in words and deeds beginning with the abolitionist movement and the Underground Railroad. Our church is the oldest church of any kind in DuPage County, chartered in 1833. Our building with its beautiful stained glass windows was dedicated in 1906. God is still speaking through the compassion and actions of the people at First Congregational UCC Naperville.
We welcome all who come to this place of worship and whose desire is to praise God and to seek Christ. We hope you will find at First Congregational, United Church of Christ, an accepting, caring, and non-judgmental spirit, where faith is renewed
and power for living is found.
