We provide a place of peace and a community of compassion. We are an Open and Affirming congregation welcome to all people. You do not need to dress up to attend our church. Just come and be prepared to smile!

Church Staff

The pastor's name is Rev. Stephanie Bingham Doss and the Church Secretary is Erma Mascorro. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

Worship

Our weekly celebration includes music by the choir, church orchestra and handbells, thoughtful sermons related to daily life, and a warm and welcoming community of faith representing diverse backgrounds. Sunday School for ages 4 and up is available, and we also provide a nursery for ages 3 and under. Nursery care is available from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Youth Group meets at various times. Please contact the church office for more information.

Directions

Tulare is in the South San Joaquin Valley, the Great Valley of California, which is the most agriculturally productive area in the world. We are on State Route 99, 65 miles north of Bakersfield and 45 miles south of Fresno. From 99, take the Tulare Ave. exit and head west through downtown to 220 West Tulare Ave. We are on the northwest corner of H Street and Tulare Ave, and the church is painted white. It is the little church in Tulare, with heart!

History

We are the oldest church in Tulare; started in 1874. The current church was built in 1900. Throughout Tulare's more than a century of existence, the Congregational Church has played a key role in shaping the community's history. In the town's infancy, the congregation made its church building available for use by other denominations starting congregations in the new little town.
