Our Mission: Informed by our vision of God's purpose, the First Congregation United Church of Christ of Ypsilanti proclaims its mission is to enable each person by love to take Christian responsibility for our relationship to God, to self, to the church, to the community, and to all creation.
Our mission as a gathered open and affirming community of faith is to be a vision of hope, peace, and justice. We join together seeking to include children, people of all ages, races and sexual orientation and to honor the tradition of personal faith and social action in the United Church of Christ. We join together to proclaim - to "live out" - the Good News and to celebrate God in our service of praise and worship.
As a community we endeavor to minister to and with those in need and to unite with others in political, financial, and ecumenical ways to bridge the division and separations that exist in our community.
Maintaining our covenant to one another and the wider community is central to our church. Children are an important part of our community. While all children are welcome in worship, we provide nursery care for the little ones and Christian Education is available for all ages.
First Congregational United Church of Christ of Ypsilanti is a multi-aged congregation where all are warmly welcomed.
We are a growing congregation where spirit abounds.
