FRIEDENS UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST is located 10 1/2 miles north of Seneca, Kansas, on Hwy 63.  If you are driving down from Nebraska, we are located 2  1/2 miles south of DuBois, NE.  The same highway is called 50 in Nebraska, and 63 in Kansas.  The church sits 1/2 mile from the NE/KS state line.

     Friedens was established in 1892, with the German language spoken in services and meetings.  The name "Friedens" is German for "peace."  After a number of years the English language was added to services -  one week in German, the next in English, throughout the year.  Today, of course, all of our services are in English, and most of us have little or no memory of the German language.  Many of our founding families are still represented in the congregation.  Though we have deep roots in surrounding communities, we are always open to new faces and ideas.  We welcome visitors, with open arms. 

     Friedens has 183 members now, and offers Sunday School for all ages at 9 a.m., during the school year.  Our worship service begins at 10 a.m.  Everyone is welcome.  Enter through the green double doors on the south side.
