Our Mission: We, the people of
Longswamp UCC, acknowledge Christ as
the foundation of our faith and seek to
spread God's Good News to all people,
by reaching out to children, youth,
newcomers, and members, responding
to the needs of our community and world,
exploring innovative forms of worship, and
showing love and forgiveness.
In a beautiful and historic sanctuary, and with energy and enthusiasm, we worship the One who is our guide and strength. Music plays a large part in worship through congregational singing, organ preludes, and special music provided by the choirs (for all ages), soloists, and the handbell choir. We provide learning activities (for ages two through adult) in our Sunday School program and offer a Vacation Bible School program in the summer. With many special activities (a Pennsylvania Dutch bazaar, strawberry and peach festivals, potpie dinners, for example), we strengthen connections with the local community. In addition, local scouting organizations use our facilities for their meetings and activities. The Longswamp Learning Center (for early childhood development) has been operating from the Church for almost 20 years. Known as the "white church on the hill," Longswamp UCC responds to local emergency needs, as well as ongoing mission activities throughout the world. We seek to honor our 250-year heritage by making a difference in today's world - sharing the love and joy of Christ in all that we do - welcoming and caring and being aware of God's presence within us and around us.
Since God is still speaking in many and varied ways, we invite you to come and listen with us for God's voice - in worship, Christian education, times of fellowship, and mission activities - and join in the journey that will lead to new
and exciting places.
