Our Mission:
At Parkside Community Church, our mission includes: seeking to know and share God's love through Jesus Christ, nurturing one another on the spiritual journey, and celebrating our diversity.
Worship brings us together to experience God and community in uplifting, challenging and celebratory ways. Music, drama, puppets, prayer, and liturgy all interweave to offer praise to God, teaching for life's application, and healing love for wounds of the soul. Families enjoy a safe place at Parkside for their children to make friends, learn formative and lasting values, and discover God's unconditional love.
Parkside is committed to fostering unity in body, mind, and spirit through our Health Ministry program. Weekly classes are offered in Tai Chi, Restorative Yoga, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Bible study for all ages. Our Parish Nurse advocates, educates, and supports individuals as they explore the many ways God restores wholeness to our lives. Monthly prayer and healing services are conducted following worship
Service to our greater community is expressed through member donations of time and food to the local food closet. A large percentage of Parkside members also participate in the annual CROP walk raising funds to fight hunger. We seek justice for all of God's peoples and were the first United Church of Christ congregation in Sacramento to become "Open and Affirming," welcoming anyone into full fellowship without fear of judgment, ridicule or censure.
No matter who, no matter what, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you are invited and welcome to join us.
