                             WE ARE 50 YEARS "BOLD!"

During this anniversary year, Starview is highlighting some special moments and periods in it's history. On May 18th, during our regular Sunday morning worship service (9 AM) our Christian Education ministries will be highlighted. Then, on June 8, we will celebrate the "family" of Starview and remember that Jesus said, "No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends," by recognizing our local police personnel.

                                               NEW POLLING FACILITY!!
New this year for local folks: Starview UCC will be the new polling facility for the April 22nd Primary Election and the November  4th General Election from 6 AM to 10 PM. Anticipating a larger than usual voter turnout, the local governing body decided that Starview UCC should be used as the official polling place, since both adequate parking and handicap accessibility are available.

                COME AND CELEBRATE PENTECOST ON
                             MAY 11, 2008 at 9 AM
On this special holy day, when we celebrate the church's birthday or the day when the Holy Spirit gave birth to the Christian Church, 6 (six) of our youth will participate in the rite of confirmation. In the United Church of Christ, a person is incorporated into the body of Christ, the universal church, through the sacrament of baptism and in the UCC this most often happens when a person is an infant or a young child. As a person who was baptized early in their life approaches adolescence, the local church offers that person the opportunity to give public assent to the baptismal promises made on their behalf. The rite of confirmation celebrates this occasion of affirmation of baptism in the life of the individual and of the local church.

                                       Prayer Ministry
If you or someone you know is in need of dedicated daily prayer please call the church office with a name and need (if you feel the "need" is necessary information). Starview UCC has a group of lay ministers who have committed themselves to confidentiality and the practice of daily dedicated prayer on behalf of the church and those folks requesting this ministry.

We invite all who are interested in worshipping God
and serving humanity to join us.
