Our Mission: It is the mission and purpose of Somers United Church of Christ to study and seek the will of God and to transform our understanding into action.

The ministry of Somers Church is to practice what we preach in our mission statement. From the newest and  youngest member, to those bordering on a century old, we not only seek the will of God, but work to give back to God for all God's blessings. We are a growing congregation working to get a handle on the movement and trends of the culture in order to be relevant for the here and now and the years ahead. We have a rich history that informs us but without constraining us to traditional means and ways of doing church. We value the presence of children and youth and celebrate all that the generations have to offer one another. We sing praise to God in different styles and even languages, recognizing that all we do is an act of worship and devotion to our God and Creator. As a rule, we lift up and support the ideals and theology of the United Church of Christ, in spite our assorted political and social perspectives. Christian Education, outreach, fellowship and mission are constantly at the heart of our vision for what we are and can be.

We welcome all who struggle and seek to be the best that they can be and hope that we can be the best that we can be and what they need in a faith community, with God's help.
