| Our church photo may lean to the left, but within our congregation we welcome folks from all over the political spectrum! | We are a small open country church founded over a century ago by German immigrants, many of whose descendants are faithful members today. Our aim is to seek first the realm of God in our worship and in our service to the community. We seek to challenge one another to love God and neighbor in an atmosphere that celebrates our unity and affirms our individual differences. In our last annual meeting, our congregation unanimously voted to re-affirm our committment to be an open church.
Frequently Asked Questions:
-
Where is Gerald, anyway? Gerald was once a vibrant farming community complete with a school and a store, but now only the church remains. Gerald is located on FM 308 (also known as Leroy Parkway) between Elm Mott and Leroy. From Waco, drive north on I-35, exit at Elm Mott, and travel in a north-easterly direction on FM 308 for exactly 5 miles. We will be on the right at the intersection of Gerald Lane and FM 308. If those directions don't help, maybe this map will.

Do you have child care? Yes for Sunday School, No for worship. We welcome all children to worship--even the noisy ones!--because we believe that every member of our body has something to contribute to our worship life together. So, if you are looking for a place where you can worship with your kids instead of apart from them, look no further. That said, we understand when very young children have had enough of pew-sitting. Our sanctuary is fitted with a "cry room" where parents can still see and hear what is going on in the sanctuary and children can play with a few toys or rock in the rocking chair.
- Am I really welcome? Yes. We mean it when we say, "whoever you are...you are welcome here." Even if your kids are noisy (ours tend to be, too!), even if you have been rejected from other churches because of your sexual orientation, your life choices, or your ethnicity, even if you come with more doubt than belief--you ARE welcome here.
Still have questions? Please don't hesitate to call or email. We welcome you and your questions!
